Readers’ Choice: Best Veterinarian in Vienna

From the common mutt to the exotic chinchilla, our pets are part of the family.

Update: You nominated the best veterinarians in Vienna, and now, four have moved on to the voting round of Patch's Readers' Choice 2012.  Here's your chance to put your money (er — vote) where your mouth is.

Cast a vote to help crown a winner.  Voting opens July 23 and continues through 11:59 p.m. Aug. 17. Only one vote per user — tell your friends and family to log on to pick their favorite, too!

Original: Veterinarians across Fairfax County are giving our pets all they deserve and more.

From unique and innovative treatments to those rabies booster shots, veterinarians are tasked with keeping our loved ones healthy for years.

We’ll keep accepting nominations through July 9. After that, nominations will be closed and we’ll start the voting, so make sure to get in your favorites now.

All you need to do to nominate a veterinarian or is to add their name or the business name in the comments below. If you already see the business you want to nominate, make sure to add your comment about why it should be included, because we may not be able to add all businesses to our poll and we want to make sure the top ones make it into the poll.

Follow this contest on Facebook (Vienna Patch) and on Twitter @ViennaPatch.

Dr. Westfall at the Vienna Animal Hospital simply has a way with animals. In point of fact, she has always been calm, warm, and reassuring to our pets. She's very knowledgeable and always takes time to answer questions. Any questions. She is a marvelous Vet.

Sandy Christmus at Oakton Vienna Animal Hospital is the vet that I entrust my four legged family members to. He is patient, kind, and he is SMART. And we've put all of those talents through the test with some real challenges. He has always worked hard and with compassion at finding solutions. When that day comes that none of us like to think of or experience, his sensitive, kind gentleness helps enormously.

Dr. Christmus is a great vet who is always willing to listen to what you have to say and enthusiastically greets my beagle, Sophie, each time he meets her.
