Korean TV Ad: Democrat Running for Congress in Northern Virginia Not Taking Vote for Granted

Candidates court Korean American vote in 10th District congressional campaign.

Democrat John Foust, running for Congress in a heated race against Republican nominee Barbara Comstock, isn't taking Northern Virginia's Korean-American vote for granted.

The Washington Post on Monday noted Comstock's courting of the demographic.

On Saturday, a Korean-language TV ad touting Foust popped up on YouTube.  The ad was posted by WKTV, a Korean-language TV station located in Merrifield, Va.

The Asian vote is seen by many politicos as "swing voters" for their ability to help swing an election in a tight race. The D.C. region's Korean population is reportedly the third largest in the country, with many living in the 10th District's Centreville area.

Dranesville District Supervisor Foust is running against Comstock, who currently represents the 34th District in the General Assembly.

The winner of November's election will take the seat of Republican Frank Wolf, who announced his retirement from Congress.
