A Coordinated Action Team meeting of some 8 allied Northern Virginia Gun Violence Prevention groups met at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax on Saturday Nov. 9, 2013.  Hosted by the Fairfax Citizens Alliance Against Gun Violence, about 35 activists discussed recent victories – including a supportive Governor and Lt. Governor-Elect – and plans for coming events.

These groups have held a vigil at the Fairfax HQ of the NRA the 14th of each month to commemorate the tragic gun violence at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown CT; special action there is being considered for the 1st anniversary on Dec. 14th. The t-shirts recognize the twenty 6 & 7-year old children and the 6 teachers who died that day.

Ongoing actions include petitions and letters to Congress urging consideration and passage of long-overdue sensible gun violence prevention legislation.
