Candice Mills Project + Colin Thompson Band

Candice Mills is one of the most talented and illuminating new singers from DC to hit the indie music scene. Born in Landstuhl Germany and raised in Alexandria Virginia, Candice has been playing music all of her life starting with her first instrument the alto sax. Candice's father gave her an alto saxophone on her fifth birthday sparking her love of music and giving her a foundation. Candice has always had a strong support system from her family. Her father was a professional guitarist who toured with several major acts including Sam and Dave, Cissy Houston (Whitney Houston's mother) & Cleve Francis. It was very important to him that Candice got to experience the music first hand. He would bring her to practices and sessions and even on tours as a youth to ensure that music would always be there for her. When he passed away in April 1998, Candice continued the legacy that her father left behind.

After quitting college to tour with a funk band, Candice eventually moved back home to Alexandria to get onto the D.C. music scene. Instead of playing her sax, Candice decided to put her voice to the test and recorded background vocals for local groups, Mello-D and the Rados and RPM. After a few attempts to break out as a solo artist, she was invited to sing with a D.C. based reggae/funk group, See-I, which features several band members of Thievery Corporation. Candice has a weekly residency singing with this group every Wednesday night at the Eighteenth Street Lounge.

In addition to this weekly residency, Candice is the newest member and lead vocalist for the rock/soul band "FUTURE". This all original music group proves to be home for Candice's haunting and powerful vocals.
