The Gullah people are descendants of slaves who live on the sea islands off the coast of South Carolina and Georgia. Their cooking was that of necessity, eating locally before it was a popular food trend. Sweet Potato Fritters; Whole Fried Turkey; Macaroni & Cheese; Collard Greens with Ham Hock; Hoe Cakes with Peach Compote & Ice Cream.
