Egypt Reunion Show + Modern Yesterday + Vibe

The band Egypt is like a good friend you don't need to see every week, or month…hell, years can go by without a word, but you know its there for you, and you know you can count on a good time when you finally do meet again.

Thats what the band means to its friends and fans, and thats what the band members mean to each other. Theres a reason they keep coming together every few years to blow out a weekend of hard rock and funk riffs in a sweaty, packed room. Everyone knows all the words, everyone knows when Joe Lawlor is going to rip their heads off with some shredding lead, and they know when Kevin Murphy is going to punch a hole in the kick drum with his big right foot and drop a groove so heavy and deep you'll be glad you skipped taco tuesday that week. Egypt is like a familiar voice from some old lover….Its been a long time, but you remember the feeling and you want it again. The story of Egypt is long and complicated. It would be difficult to summarize in this brief bio, but the legacy speaks for its self. Respect from, and stage time shared with many well known acts…..Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, Primus, Ziggy Marley, Neville Brothers, 24-7 Spyz, Urban Dance Squad, Butthole Surfers to name a few.The core group of Jeff Brodnax (vocals), Joe lawlor (guitar), Kevin Murphy (drums, destruction), and Andy Waldeck (bass) have been playing music on and off  together for over 20 years. And all of them make their living as professionals in the music industry.

They come together every so often to tell stories, jump around and get a good sweat on. But mostly they come to rock…. and they rock HARD ! Time apart and time spent in other musical adventures has served to sharpen their senses and hone their ability to present this original material.

Egypt takes what they did as a band seriously and they take their rare reunion opportunities seriously. They deliver their show with the energy and ferocity of their former selves, and for a night or two, relive what a powerful and meaningful thing they created. Its for the fans, and for the close friends, but it also for the band.

They live, love and breath this music….
This is a must see, feel and hear night you do not want to miss!
