Ellis Paul + Mariana Bell

Ellis Paul's [www.EllisPaul.com] folk credentials are unassailable.  They are as genuine as the fourteen Boston Music Awards he has earned, as indelible as the tattoo of Woody Guthrie that adorns his arm and as authentic as the musical roots he draws upon with every note he plays.  Ellis grew up in Maine but got his musical start during college in Boston while studying to be a social worker.  He started to play open mike nights in the Boston music scene during a time when Contemporary Folk was beginning to come onto the mainstream markets.  It was a time and a place that nurtured some of the country's top singer/songwriters, including  Martin Sexton, Patty Griffin, Jonatha Brooke, Dar Williams and Ellis was one of its more memorable exponents.  With 16 CDs, a DVD, and a book of poems and short stories to his credit, Ellis' songs have been featured on the soundtracks to the Farrelly Brothers' films, Hall Pass, Me, Myself & Irene, and Shallow Hal, as well as television's Edand Real World on MTV.  He has shared the stage with Pete Seeger, Arlo Guthrie, Richie Havens, Shawn Colvin, Roger McGuinn, and Sugarland, among others, and performs over 150 tour dates a year, for 20 years.
