Whether or not settlement is possible, once someone files a Complaint or Petition, you may find that you have been served with discovery—or that you need to serve the other side with it.  The names and variety of discovery – Written Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, Requests for Production of Documents and Notices of Deposition – can often be overwhelming and scary.  Some of the requests can be highly complex.  This is an opportunity to review some commonly issued discovery questions, which include references to multi-part statutes.  How you respond to discovery has a significant impact on your case.  Your response has an impact on what evidence you can present at trial and the cost of the proceedings.
