Westbriar ES Students Raise Thousands for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

Westbriar Elementary students this month presented a big check to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) representing the amount students and parents have raised in honor of a student who fought and survived leukemia.

As the grand finale for this year’s "Pennies for Patients" campaign, the school hosted a students vs. teachers volleyball game.

Out of 137 schools in Virginia raising money for LLS, Westbriar is the top fundraiser, donating more than $6,500 to the organization.

LLS supports research toward finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, while improving quality of life for patients and their families.
