Bicyclist Allegedly Hits Car, Leaves Scene

The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. If an arrest is mentioned, It does not indicate a conviction.

A vehicle was damaged on Follin Lane this week after a bicyclist allegedly clipped the car during morning rush hour.

A driver told Vienna Police he was traveling north on Follin Lane and stopped around 7:15 a.m. June 17 at a red light at the road's intersection with Maple Avenue. 

While the car was stopped, a bicycle traveling east on Maple Avenue allegedly struck the front left corner of the vehicle. It left damage. 

The driver told police the bicyclist left the scene without giving his information, according to a police report. 

The extent of the damage to the car is unclear.

Other crashes reported to the Vienna Police June 14 to 20:

  • Courthouse Road near Nutley Street SW June 14 3:44 p.m.: The drivers of two vehicles were traveling west bound on Courthouse Road approaching the intersection with Nutley Street, SW. The driver of the first vehicle stopped for the red traffic signal. The driver of the second vehicle stated he looked down to adjust his radio and when he returned his attention to the roadway the vehicle in front of him had stopped. The driver of the second vehicle rear ended the first vehicle. 
  • Park Street near Maple Avenue June 14 4:43 p.m.: The driver of the first vehicle was traveling north bound on Park Street. Then driver of the second vehicle was attempting to exit a parking lot and collided with the first vehicle. The driver of the vehicle exiting the parking lot was charged with Failure to Pay Full Time and Attention. 
  • Church Street at Mill Street NE June 14 10:14 p.m.: The drivers of two vehicle stated each vehicle entered the intersection simultaneously. The driver of the second vehicle stated he took his eyes off the roadway and when he directed his attention back to the road a collision occurred.
