Car Crashes into Photo Studio
Fairfax County building inspector says shop not safe for occupancy.
A photo studio on Maple Avenue was significantly damaged last week after a car struck the building.
Around 1:48 p.m. Dec. 18, a woman told police she was attempting to pull into a parking space in front of Life Gallery Studio, 301 Maple Ave NW, when she hit what she thought was the brakes to slow down her acceleration into the space.
Instead, the car "propelled forward over the turtarrier and struck the building," according to a Vienna Police Department report.

After the driver struck the building, she tested her brakes and told police they were working properly.
According to the police report, the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue department along with a Fairfax County Building Inspector responded to the scene and "after inspecting the building determined it was not safe for occupancy."

Police charged the driver of the car with reckless driving.
