Town of Vienna crews began an emergency repair to a water main near the intersection of James Madison Drive and Maple Avenue early this morning, causing traffic backups into Oakton during the morning rush hour commute.

The northeast bound lanes of Maple Avenue between Glengyle Drive and Nutley Street are closed, said Public Information Officer Kirstyn Barr.  Commuters are using the service road on the right hand side of Maple Avenue to go around the repair work. Lanes will be closed until the repair work is completed.
