Fairfax County Police Log: Aug. 2-8

A summary of the latest Vienna incidents, arrests reported

Fairfax County Police logged the following incidents in the Vienna area during the week ending Aug. 8:

  • Larceny: 2300 Riviera Drive, jewelry from residence
  • Larceny: 9600 Maymont Drive, air conditioning unit from residence
  • Larceny: 8500 Cottage Street, laptop computer from residence
  • Larceny: 2900 Gallows Road, belt from residence
  • Larceny: 9000 Ridge Lane, kayaks from residence
  • Larceny: 7800 Tysons Corner Center, laptop computer from business 
  • Larceny: 8100 Tysons Corner Center, handbags from business
  • Vehicle Theft: 3000 Nutley Street, 2005 Honda CBR 100

Rabies Violation: 2400 block of Southgate Square, 8/4/12, 1:15 p.m. A 53-year-old mail carrier was attempting to deliver mail when a 5-year-old mix terrier bit him. The dog was routinely quarantined and the owner, Steven Troutman, 28, of Reston, was additionally charged with no valid rabies vaccination.

Injured Raccoon: 8700 block of Thomas J. Stockton Parkway, 8/7/12, 3:45. Animal Control Officers were called for a raccoon fighting a dog. The raccoon was captured, destroyed, and taken to the shelter for processing. Owner of the dog was charged with having an unlicensed dog.

Abandoned Dog: Berger Place/Oram Place, 8/8/12, 4:50 p.m. Animal Control Officers were called for a dog which apparently was intentionally left behind. The friendly young chocolate and white Pit Bull Terrier was captured and taken to the shelter pending owner identification.
