Fire Does $150,000 Damage to Vienna Area Home

Family of five displaced by fire, but no injuries.

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a house fire Tuesday  night in the Vienna area of Fairfax County. The single-family home is located on Dunn Meadows Road.

Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the first floor of the two-story home when they got there. 

Firefighters conducted an aggressive coordinated offensive fire attack and brought the fire under control in approximately 20 minutes. Working smoke alarms provided early warning to the five occupants who escaped unharmed.

Two adults and three children were displaced by the fire. Red Cross support was offered but declined. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $150,000.

According to fire investigators, the fire is undetermined and continues to be under investigation.
