At 7 a.m. Tuesday, a new fire and rescue station in Vienna started accepting calls.
Wolftrap Station (No. 42), at 1315 Beulah Road in Vienna, is the newest station in Fairfax County. It is more than 14,600 square feet and sits on 6 acres of property.
Station 42 is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and includes an engine company and an EMS supervisor. Additional emergency response capabilities will be added next summer, according to Fairfax County officials.
The station will be open for a Fire Prevention Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. An “apparatus housing ceremony” will take place that day at 1 p.m.
Station 42’s public grand opening celebration is Saturday, Nov. 2.
