Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle at Gallows Road and Cottage Street

A woman was injured Thursday after she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Gallows Road and Cottage Street in Vienna.

The accident was reported to Fairfax County Police at 8:15 a.m., according to police spokesman Don Gotthardt, who added the victim was both conscious and alert following the accident. She was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

It is not yet clear where the woman was when she was hit, and police could not confirm at press time whether she was walking or riding a bike.

Gotthardt said the car remained on the scene following the accident and all lanes are now open on Gallows Road.
