Police: DWI Arrests Made in Vienna Sept. 7 and 8

Two men were arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Vienna on two consecutive days.

The following reports are from the Vienna Police Department.

On September 7, police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Maple Ave. and Courthouse Road SW. Police interacted with a driver who was suspected of being impaired. After failing to complete several field sobriety test, Erik William Saunders, 41, of Alexandria was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

Saunders was transported to the Vienna Police Station for an analysis of his breath. After the analysis, he was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and held until he was sober. 

On September 8, police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of Kingsley Road SW. Upon initial interaction with the driver, police saw open beer containers and saw signs of impairment. After failing to complete several field sobriety tests, police arrested Ismael Argueta Ramos, 40, of Patrick Street in Vienna for Driving While Intoxicated. Ramos was transported to the Vienna Police Station where he refused a Breathalyzer test. He was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test, and Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle.
