Police Log: Clothing Stolen From Vienna Presbyterian

The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vienna Police are investigating the theft of more than 50 articles of clothing from

An employee of the church reported between 4 p.m. Dec. 8 and 8 a.m. Dec. 9, 30 men’s dress shirts, eight wool coats, 11 winter coats, and six women’s evening gowns went missing.

It's believed somebody entered the church and stole these items.

Other highlights from the log, Dec. 9 to Dec. 15:

  • A woman now in her 40s reported between 1977 and 1981 she was sexually assaulted by her grandfather. The grandfather has since died.
  • An employee at , 100 Maple Avenue E. reported leaving a bank card unattended on her desk at work between July 6 and July 2010. Later, she discovered it was missing and her bank statement had fraudulent transactions listed on it. The woman confronted a co-worker about the card and transactions and he admitted to using it; she had loaned the card to this same co-worker in the past to make purchases, but in this specific instance during he had not been authorized to use it. The co-worker then promised he would repay the charges, but has never done so. The complainant decided against prosecuting the co-worker for the offense after reporting it to the police.
  • The owner of a home on Cottage Street reported between Oct. 15 and Dec. 15 he believed someone was residing in a vacant property he owned there, after Dominion Power reported someone had turned on power to the home. Police searched the home and found no evidence someone was occupying it. The owner now believes Dominion Power may have made a clerical error and will follow up
    with them.
  • A citizen reported finding a PDA device and leather holder Nov. 24 on Westbriar Drive. The items are being held pending retrieval by their owner.
  • A citizen reported some previously delivered UPS packages were stolen from her front porch on Cottage Street SW between 2:23 p.m. Dec. 6 and noon Dec. 7. The woman never saw the packages, but UPS confirmed their delivery.
  • An employee of reported at 9:36 p.m. Dec. 9 he observed three juveniles hide some merchandise under their clothing and then leave the store. The employee confronted them after they left the store and they proceeded to return several containers of beer they had stolen. Police were contacted after they left the area; officers were unable to locate the juveniles.
  • While conducting a traffic stop at 3:15 a.m. Dec. 10 at Nutley Street and Virginia Center Boulevard, Police suspected the presence of marijuana. While investigating, police discovered the driver was un-licensed and there was narcotic paraphernalia inside the vehicle. The paraphernalia was confiscated and the driver was issued a summons for operating a vehicle
    without a driver’s license.
  • A woman reported at 4:33 p.m. Dec. 10 her former husband had not returned their daughter at the legally agreed upon time. Police contacted Prince William County Police, who checked on the welfare of the child. The child was found to be in good condition and the father said he would return the child in a couple of hours. A magistrate refused to issue a summons for the violation as he felt it was a civil issue. Vienna Police followed up later in the evening to ensure the child had been returned.
  • At 2 p.m. Dec. 11, a 16-year-old boy came to Vienna Police Headquarters to report his mother had thrown him out of his Park Terrace Court home. The mother learned the boy had thrown a party several days ago and she became upset. Police took the boy back to the home and spoke with the mother who, who said she had thrown her son out of the home because he would not listen to her and becomes violent when she confronts him. After some discussion, the mother allowed the boy to return.
  • Between 5:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at 5:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Dec. 13 a “twig deer” was found to be missing from the front of , 130 Maple Avenue, E. It is believed that the deer was stolen.
  • A boyfriend and girlfriend were driving in a vehicle at 1:25 p.m. Dec. 12 near Follin Lane and Echols Street SE. They were arguing about a cell phone the boyfriend found in the girlfriend's possession when the girlfriend attempted to exit the vehicle while it was still in motion. The boyfriend prevented her from doing so, and the girlfriend struck the boyfriend. Police explained the warrant obtainment process to the couple.
  • The owner of a business on Maple Avenue East reported at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 an employee was upset because he had not been paid for several weeks. The business owner told him he needed to more accurately report his hours. The pair had a verbal and then physical altercation before the employee left. Police explained the warrant obtainment process to the owner.
  • A man reported losing his wallet between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. at t, located at 213 Maple Avenue E.
  • The Animal Control Officer responded to a dog fight around 1:15 p.m. Dec. 14 on Tapawingo Road SE. He discovered a citizen had been walking her dog when a neighbor’s dog attacked it. The dog that was attacked had puncture wounds on its neck. The Animal Control Officer suggested the dog be taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment. Police contacted the owner of the attacking dog and it was quarantined for 10 days.
  • A bicyclist reported while riding his bike around 1:50 p.m. near Ayrhill Avenue and Glyndon Street, a motor vehicle passed too close to him. Police explained the warrant obtainment process to the rider.
  • A mother reported around 7:02 p.m. Dec. 15, her adult daughter was refusing to leave her Park Terrace Court home. The mother and daughter had been arguing and the mother thought it was time for the daughter to go. The daughter reported she was unable to leave and live in her own home in Alexandria because it lacked cable television and an Internet connection. After police talked to both women, the daughter left without incident.

Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash 11:19 p.m. Dec. 8 on Maple Avenue NE. The car had run off the road and struck a tree in the median. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of an intoxicant and passed out. Police Ryan Albert Morgan, 34, of Reston, was arrested for suspicion of driving while under the influence of intoxicants and taken to Fairfax Hospital for evaluation and treatment. Police served a warrant on Morgan at the hospital and he was released after giving his signature.
