Police Log: Credit Cards Stolen, Unlicensed Solicitors Summoned

The following arrest information was supplied by the Vienna Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police Highlights May 20 to May 26

  • Several employees of Westwood Country Club reported that someone had broken into a vehicle parked on the property between 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on May 19. Police responded and found that someone had smashed the passenger side window to steal a visible purse. The owner called her credit card company and found her cards had already been used fradulently. The case is still being investigated. 
  • Between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., a customer at Born 2 Dance studio on Maple Ave noticed that her phone, driver's license and credit card were stolen from a window sill while dancing. The case is being investigated.
  • Police responded to a fight outside El Punto Restaurant on Cedar Lane around 1 a.m. May 22 . Upon arrival, police received four different accounts of what had occurred. One person claimed to be a victim; another said that man had been punched and returned the punch. Another witness said the fight began when a woman singing in the restaurant was touched by the alleged victim. Another witness said the singer was the former girlfriend of the alleged victim. Police explained the warrant process to all parties involved.A short while later, Police arrested Jose Alexis Bonilla, 22, of Vienna for drunk in public.  Bonilla was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
  • A citizen on Orchard Street N.W. told police an unlicensed solicitor was working in the area around 4:07 p.m. May 23. Police responded, investigated and issued Ian T. Ezyk, 30, of  Gainesville a summons for soliciting without a town license. He was released after signing the summons.
  • A resident of George Street S.W. reported that someone had used his credit card information fradulently between 6 p.m. May 23 and 1:43 p.m. May 25. Police are investigating the situation. 
  • A business owner in the 400 block of Maple Avenue N.W. told Police he found what looked like 28 bullet casings on the ground near his store around 2:19 p.m. on May 25. Police believe the casings are for construction use and may have spilled from a vehicle.
  • Police responded to Courthouse Road S.W. at 6:03 a.m. May 26, after a resident reported that nearby workers were beginning before 7 a.m. -- a violation of the Town of Vienna noise ordinance. Police determined there was no violation because workers were simply arriving at the job site. The resident complained again a short time later. When Police returned, they investigate and found what the resident interpreted as construction noise was actually a back-up alarm for pedestrians. The on-site superivisor voluntarily asked his employees to arrive a bit closer to 7 a.m. in deference to the neighbors, Police said.

ARRESTS

After stopping a vehicle at 12:12 a.m. May 20 on Follin Lane S.E., Police arrested Fidel Del Cid Mendoza of Vienna for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to Vienna Police Headquarters for breath analysis, and then to Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

A security guard on Patrick Street S.E. asked for Police assistance around 9:30 p.m. on May 20 after they found three people thought to have been drinking alcohol. Police responded and found the suspicions to be true. When he failed to obey police instruction, Salvador Lemus Nolasco, 36, was arrested and transported to the
Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

After police made a traffic stop around 12:28 a.m. May 21 at Wade Hampton Drive and Maple Avenue, they arrested Rhett Thomas Campbell, 19, of Vienna, for driving while intoxicated. After searching the vehicle, police found additional alcoholic beverages inside the car. Campbell was transported to Vienna Police headquarters for breath analysis and then to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was formally charged with driving while intoxicated and underage possession of alcohol.

Police responded to a report of drinking in the playground area near Commons Drive N.W. at 8:20 p.m. May 21. After an investigation, police issued  Jose Antonio Mendes, 25, of  Vienna and Boris Alfredo Loor, 21, of Vienna, summons for drinking in public. They were released after signing summons. 


Around 10 p.m. on May 21, Police noticed a man leaving the 7-11 on Maple Avenue West with alcohol. He put it in the trunk of the vehicle and left the area by foot. Police investigated and found that an underage woman asked the man, who she did not know, to buy alcohol for her and her friends. Alexandra E. Kelly, 19, of Oakton, was issued a summons for underage possession of alcohol. She was released after signing the summons.

While conducting a traffic stop at 2:05 a.m. on May 22 at the intersection of Old Courthouse Road and Pine Valley Drive, Vienna Police arrested Alexis Caroline Jones, 19, of Vienna for driving while intoxicated. She was transported to Vienna Police Headquarters for a breath analysis. While there, Police discovered she also had the ID of another woman.

During a traffic stop at 1:28 a.m. May 23, Police arrested Stephen Russell Thompson, 36, of Fairfax  for driving while intoxicated. He was then transported to Vienna Police Headquarters for analysis of his breath, and then to  the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
