Police Log: Man Exposes Himself to Driver

Vienna Police are looking for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a driver of a car traveling in front of his own vehicle.

A resident reported between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m. Nov. 23 while driving near Old Courthouse Road and Fairway Drive NE, she saw a man pull up behind her car in a black Honda who "appeared to be exposing himself."

After getting her attention he began to yell obscenities at her, the resident said.

The woman gave police the vehicle's license plate number. Police are investigating the case.

Incident highlights from the Vienna Police Department Log, Nov. 23 to 30 (for arrests, click here):

• A resident reported that on three different occasions between noon June 1 and 3:42 p.m. Nov. 23, he found a nail in his vehicle on Cottage Street SW.
• A woman reported her ex-boyfriend had been sending her harassing texts since their breakup around noon Oct. 4. In November, he was spotted at her place of employment on Center Street several times. Police are investigating the case.
• An employee reported at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 22 he and another employee of Lee's Car Wash, 159 Maple Ave NW, were arguing about his work performance when the fight turned physical. One of the employees kicked the other. Police are investigating the case.
• A resident reported at 2:06 p.m. Nov. 22 she could not reach another resident in her building on Park Terrace Court SE, despite calls and knocking on the door. She was concerned for his welfare. Police arrived and made contact with the resident, who said he had been sleeping and did not answer the door or the telephone. He did not require medical assistance.
• A resident reported at 9 a.m Nov. 23 that when she awoke she found her estranged husband standing at the foot of the bed. She believed he entered her home through an unlocked door, but he left when she informed him she was going to call police. 
• A resident reported at 2:10 p.m. Nov. 24 an injured deer had been found lying in a back yard on Springwood Court. An officer responded and determined the animal could not be saved.
• A resident reported at 5:05 p.m. Nov. 24 her ex-husband attempted to take their daughter for the weekend, a violation of their custody agreement. The ex-husband left prior to the arrival of the police officer, without the daughter.
• A resident reported her mother and father were in a heated argument at 6:26 p.m. Nov. 24. When police arrived, the parents told the officer they were arguing verbally and the daughter overreacted by calling police.
• A woman reported at 9:08 p.m. Nov. 24 an argument with her estranged husband became physical after the pair began arguing over the custody agreement of their children. Police responded and gave the couple information on how to press charges if they wanted to pursue the incident.
• A citizen told police at 7:45 a.m. Nov. 25 he witnessed a man and woman arguing on Maple Avenue SW. It turned physical, and he witnessed the woman being pushed to the ground. The woman was crying, and when the citizen approached to help, both the man and the woman left the area.
  When police located the woman, she told them she had fallen into the bushes and was not pushed. She said she was arguing with the man about repayment for an iPad. Neither the man or the woman wanted to press charges. 
• A resident told police at 8:33 p.m. Nov. 25 he had banned a subcontractor from his home on Alma Street after getting into an argument about the quality of work on his home. Police told the man to call them if the subcontractor returned.
• While patrolling at 3:56 a.m. Nov. 26 near Yeonas Park, police found two teens in the park, one of them carrying a bow and arrow and the other a blow dart gun. The teens were taken to the police station, where their parents were notified and came to pick them up.
• An employee of the Hope Center reported at 5 a.m. Nov. 26 she was bitten by a cat as she was trying to put it in a cage.  The owner of the cat resides in Fairfax County. A Fairfax County Animal Control Officer was contacted and advised the owner of the quarantine process.
• A customer told police at 9:22 a.m. Nov. 28 he was refused service at An employee told police he refused the customer service because he did not like the way the customer spoke to him. The customer was told he was no longer welcome at the restaurant. He agreed to leave and not return.
• An employee at The Cedar Lane Center reported at 11:21 a.m. Nov. 28
  a student had made threatening statements during one of his classes. The student was removed from the school. Police are investigating the case.
• A resident reported at 9:07 a.m. Nov. 28 she had an argument with her son, after which he left the house. She located her son shortly afterward at a local business. 
• A woman reported at 11:05 a.m. Nov. 29 she was concerned for her ex-husband because she had been trying to contact him by phone and he wasn't answering nor returning her calls. Police contacted the ex-husband, who said he didn't need any assistance. He said his ex-wife continually calls him at home and his job. Police are investigating the case.
• A man reported at 10:34 p.m. he was receiving harassing telephone calls from his ex-fiancé’s current boyfriend. The resident said the ex-fiancé and her boyfriend had also been posting disparaging remarks on Facebook concerning the resident’s current girlfriend, and that the pair was staying at an area hotel. Police responded to the hotel and located the ex-fiancé and her boyfriend, advising them both to stop harassing the ex-fiancé and his girlfriend, through either telephone calls or posts to Facebook.
• A resident reported at 11:18 p.m. Nov. 29 she and her husband had a heated argument. Police responded and spoke with the couple, who admitted having marital problems. The husband agreed to spend the night in an area hotel for the night.
