Police Log: Marshall Road Elementary Baseball Field Damaged

The Marshall Road Elementary School baseball field was damaged last Tuesday when a truck drove on it for a ride shortly before midnight 

Police responded to the school after a caller reported seeing a blue or silver pick-up truck driving on the baseball field behind the building at 11:54 p.m. July 26. 

The caller could not provide the license plate number but said the truck fled on Nutley Street, towards Route 66.

Police could not locate the vehicle.

Fairfax County School Security was informed about the damage to the baseball field.

Other highlights from the , July 22 to 27:

• At midnight July 22, a homeowner told police the HVAC unit at his house on Kingsley Road SW had internal damage and its wires were cut. Police are investigating the case. 
• Police responded to Fairway Drive SE around 1:50 p.m. July 22 in response to a call from a caretaker, who believed the resident needed medical assistance. Police forced entry into the home with permission of the caretaker and found the resident in poor health. The resident was taken to a local hospital by Fairfax County EMS.
• An employee of the reported to Police around 8:05 a.m. July 23 that a customer had passed a $10 counterfeit bill. The employee did not know who exactly had left the bill or when the restaurant received it. 
• Around 9:30 a.m. July 23, Police responded to the after an employee said a person sitting in the outdoor patio area was unruly toward customers and other employees. The person stopped the disorderly behavior after speaking with Police. 
• Police were called to Tapawingo Road SW around 11:54 p.m. July 23 for a report of a husband and wife arguing. Police found there was no physical contact between the couple.The husband agreed to leave the residence for the evening to allow the situation to calm down.
• A concerned resident reported an argument between a mother and son around 12:38 a.m. July 24 on Patrick Street SE. Police arrived and spoke with the pair, and the mother requested her adult son leave the residence. The son agreed. 
• A resident on Creek Crossing Road reported that she heard a loud noise in front of her home around 4:59 p.m. July 24. Her daughter went outside and discovered the mailbox had been knocked off of its post. 
• Fairfax County Emergency Medical Services requested the assistance of Vienna Police around 8:49 p.m. July 24 on Westbriar Drive NE, where an elderly male was apparently intoxicated and refused all medical treatment. Police contacted the man's daughter who said she would go take care of her father. 
• A woman came to Vienna Police Headquarters around noon July 25 to report being abused by her husband more than a year ago. She said she had contacted an attorney about the abuse. Police provided  victim services information to the victim.
• A business owner in the 100 block of Church Street NW reported that when she got to her office around 6 p.m. July 26, her front door was open, but she does not recall leaving it unlocked. Police checked the location and found no signs of forced entry or missing property. 
• While conducting a traffic stop 11:40 p.m. July 26 at the intersection of Park Street and Kingsley Road SE, Police noticed the smell of a substance that was possibly illegal. Police investigated but determined there was not enough evidence to issue any charges. 

ARRESTS

Around 5:26 p.m. July 23 Police noticed a man on Cedar Lane SE who appeared to be drunk. After an investigation, Mauricio Menjivar, 31, of Patrick Street SE was arrested for drunk in public and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Police responded to a report of a man asking for money around 4:16 a.m. July 24 on Frederick Street SW. Police found the man trying to hide behind a vehicle. After investigating, Police arrested Phuoc Huu Nguyen, age 36,of Washington for drunk in public and transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

A group of citizens told police around 11:41 a.m. July 27 that there was a man drinking alcohol in front of  Police responded and found the man, Paul Marshall, 45, of Alexandria,  was not intoxicated, but issued him a summons for drinking in public. He was released after signing it.

Police saw a man slumped over a picnic bench around 1:35 a.m. July 28 on Glyndon Street. Police found the man was intoxicated. Jacob S. Miller, 20, of Ohio was arrested for drunk in public and taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
