Police Release Sketch of Burglar Who Injured Resident Tuesday on Orchard Street

Incident caused nearby schools and businesses to take precautionary measures.

The Vienna Police Department has released a sketch of a burglar who injured a Vienna resident on Tuesday. The incident caused nearby schools and businesses to take precautionary measures after the burglar escaped.

Officers responded Tuesday at about 11 a.m. to the 500 block of Orchard Street, NW after a report of a possible stabbing. After police officers arrived, the resident stated she had returned home to find an intruder in the upstairs of her home. A scuffle ensued between the intruder and the resident resulting in the resident sustaining a laceration. 

The resident was transported to an area hospital for treatment of that injury.

The intruder is described as a black male between the ages of 30 – 40, 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium to heavy build with short dreadlocks, wearing a black pullover sweatshirt with hood (hoodie), jeans and carrying a black backpack.

The Alexandria Police Department’s K-9 unit was requested and responded to aid in the tracking of the individual. Anyone with information relating to this case is asked to call Detective Elias of the Vienna Police Department at 703-255-6395.
