Sept. 17-23: Former Swim Coach Indicted

A grand jury indicted former Madison High School swim coach Noah Rucker this week on three felony counts of indecent liberties with a child while in a custodial or supervisory relationship, which will move the allegations forward to a trial.

Fairfax County Police are investigating a report of 24 stolen catalytic converters from Koons Tysons Toyota's storage lot, police said.

What was slated as a forum for candidates vying for Virginia’s 11th congressional district turned into an impromptu debate between incumbent Gerry Connolly (D) and Republican candidate Col. (Ret) Chris Perkins.

The potential $500 billion in defense cuts looming in Washington took center stage Thursday at the Capital One Conference Center during the first of three debates between U.S. Senate candidates Tim Kaine and George Allen.

Liberty Game of the Week: Marshall Statesmen field hockey defeat Madison Warhawks 2-1. 

In its first Liberty District game, the Madison Warhawks rolled to a convincing 29-6 win over the McLean Highlanders.

Georgia and Carolina Ratcliff both rowed for the U.S. Junior National Rowing team — Georgia on the junior women's four and Carolina for the junior women's eight — and both U.S. boats walked away with second-place finishes in Plovdiv, Bulgaria last month.
