Students Arrive Safely At Fairhill Elementary School After Morning Bus Fire
No injuries reported for incident at Cedar Lane and Hilltop Avenue
Fairfax County Police and Fire responded to a report of a bus fire this morning at the intersection of Hilltop Avenue and Cedar Lane in Vienna.
Bus Number 2, which was enroute to Fairhill Elementary School, was evacuated around 8:45 a.m. after smoke began to appear inside the bus, Assistant Principal Linda Ferguson wrote in a letter home to parents. Students evacuated and were transported to school in another bus. There were no injuries reported.
"Please take this opportunity to congratulate your children on the level of cooperation and support they demonstrated during this event," Ferguson wrote.
