Suspects Lead Police on Chase After Alleged Assault, Robbery of Woman Near Vienna

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Fairfax County Police were able to apprehend two suspects early Saturday morning in Prince George's County after the suspects allegedly assaulted and robbed a woman near Vienna.

The victim was exiting her vehicle Saturday at about 2:30 a.m. in the 9200 block of Topaz Street when two men approached her, police said. One suspect displayed a handgun and both suspects assaulted the victim.

The suspects took the victim’s purse and fled in a vehicle. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police located the suspect vehicle on Interstate 95 and pursued it to Old Fort Road and Indian Head Highway in Prince Georges County, Md.

At that location, both suspects bailed from the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. With the assistance of Prince Georges County Police, both suspects were taken into custody.
