Teenager Found Dead in Vienna Was McLean High School Student

Criminal investigation underway by FCPD.

A 16-year-old girl whose body was found by Fairfax County Police Friday night was a McLean High School student, identified in a letter to student families as Emylee Lonczak.

"It is with great sadness that I must inform you that one of our students died unexpectedly Friday," Principal Ellen Reilly wrote in a letter home to families of McLean High School students, NBC4 reported Monday. "Emylee Lonczak was a rising 11th grader at our school. She was a cherished student who will be greatly missed by all who knew her."

Fairfax County Police have offered little information in the death, other than to say that the case is under investigation.

On Friday, police were in the area of the 8200 block of Madrillon Estates Drive, in the Vienna area, looking for a reported 16-year-old runaway girl. The girl's parents reported her missing on Wednesday, NBC 4 reported.

The location is about four miles away from where the girl lived in McLean.

Around 11 a.m. Friday, officers located the body of the missing girl. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the medical examiner. The investigation is ongoing.
