Traffic Alert: Part of Maple Avenue Closed Wednesday Due to Gas Line Repair
Work will continue Wednesday for about five hours.
Vienna Police report Wednesday that 123/Maple Avenue, between Nutley Street West and Flint Hill Road, is closed due to gas line repair.
Washington Gas notified the Vienna Police Department that a gas line located on 123/Maple Avenue between Nutley Street and James Madison Drive West had been damaged.
Traffic between Nutley Street and Flint Hill Road will be shut down until further notice.
The Vienna Police Department is on the scene coordinating with the Fairfax County Police Department in rerouting traffic.
Traffic on 123/Maple Avenue westbound, toward Oakton, will be diverted either north or south on Nutley Street. Traffic on 123/Maple Avenue east bound, from Oakton into the Town of Vienna, will be diverted north bound onto Flint Hill Road.
Washington Gas has advised the repair will take approximately five hours, they have also advised there is no danger to the public.
