Vienna Woman Arrested for Alleged Hit and Run on Maple Avenue

Pedestrian was reportedly injured in incident that occurred at Maple Avenue and James Madison Drive, West.

Vienna Police arrested a Vienna woman last week for an alleged hit and run, according to a police report released Friday.

Irma Ventura, 37, of Vienna was arrested for allegedly striking a pedestrian last Friday, Dec. 13, at 2:23 p.m. at Maple Avenue and James Madison Drive, West.

The pedestrian was attempting to cross the road. Ventura was traveling eastbound on Maple Avenue West when she allegedly struck the pedestrian.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without rendering aid or providing information to the injured pedestrian, according to police.

A witness on the scene was able to provide the license plate information and a description of the driver to police.

Vienna Police Officer Herrera responded to the listed address for the vehicle and identified the driver of the vehicle as Ventura. After speaking with her, Herrera arrested her for Hit and Run with Injury and Driving without a Driver’s License. 

No word on the type of injuries sustained by the pedestrian.

Ventura was transported to the Fairfax Count Adult Detention Center where she was held on a $5,000 bond.
