Municipal Parking Structure/Mixed-Use Project Community Meeting

The Town of Vienna will host two informational community meetings for a municipal parking structure at 120 Church Street NW on Thursday, September 27, from2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Town Hall Council Chambers, 127 Center Street S. The meetings are free and open to anyone interested in learning more about this proposed project.

On August 15 and 16, the Town held three informational sessions on this topic and, based on comments and feedback, is holding these additional meetings in September to provide the public with updated information. New information to be discussed on September 27 includes a depiction of an on-street loading/unloading zone in front of the proposed mixed-used development, additional parking spaces on the ground floor of the parking structure, sight line projections from Maple Avenue and a depiction of the most significant portion of the local environment in comparison to the proposed structures.

The proposed Church Street parking structure at 120 Church Street NW was submitted pursuant to the Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act (PPEA) of 2002. The PPEA grants a public entity the authority to create public-private partnerships for the development of a wide range of projects for public use if the public entity determines that there is a need for a project and that private involvement may provide the project to the public in a timely or cost-effective fashion.
