Got a Dog? Vienna Dog License Tag Must be Displayed by Jan. 31

A tag showing a dog is inoculated for rabies should be renewed annually; it's required wearing any time a dog is off personal property.

Got a dog at home? Dogs over the age of four months old must be licensed annually and vaccinated against rabies, according to the Town of Vienna. License tags will be sold only upon presentation of a certificate that the dog was inoculated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian.

Dog tag fees are $10 per dog.

All dogs must have license tags securely attached to a collar and worn whenever the dog is off the owner's property. Cats over three months old must be inoculated against rabies but are not required to be licensed.

Submit a completed Dog License Application to the Finance Department at:
127 Center Street S.
Vienna, VA 22180

Dog licenses go on sale Nov. 1 of each year. They expire Dec. 31 each year and must be displayed by Jan. 31 of each year.

Dogs that are trained and serving as guide dogs for the blind, or hearing dogs for the deaf/hearing-impaired, or service dogs for the mobility-impaired, are exempt from the license tax.
