Kaine Leads Money Race in Vienna
U.S. Senate candidate also has narrow lead in campaign fundraising statewide
As Tim Kaine (D) gained his first lead in the polls over George Allen (R) in the U.S. Senate race this week, he also leads the money race in Vienna.
During the most recent filing period, which ran from May 24 to June 30, Kaine raised $667,000 in donations of $200 or more from Virginians, according to the Virginia Public Access Project, which compiles its data from OpenSecrets.org
Allen raised less statewide, with $409,000, according to the data.

Kaine also holds the lead in the money race in Vienna, raising $81,233 in the 22180, 22181 and 22182 ZIP codes from donors who have given $200 or more since his campaign began.

In overall fundraising, Kaine is hanging onto a narrow lead with $3.6 million compared to Allen’s $3.5 million in Virginia, in donations of $200 or more from Virginians.
