Former , the Democratic for the Virginia U.S. Senate seat challenging Allen, will speak at AOL on Thursday, May 17, at 1 p.m.

The Washington Times and other media outlets reported Wednesday that Allen has a strong lead over his Republican opponents for the primary, but a new poll suggests Kaine and Allen are in a virtual tie for the general election.

Allen will face Republican challengers , Tea Party activist and Chesapeake Bishop E.W. Jackson in the June primary election. 

“The Virginia Senate race is about the most boring race we poll,” Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling, told the Times. “It’s always too close to call and probably will be all the way to November. Voters know the candidates, are split in their feelings about them and haven’t shown much inclination to budge.”
