Live! From Vienna...It's the Vienna Town Council

Beginning Dec. 16, you'll be able to watch Vienna Town Council meetings from the comfort of your home. 

You'll be able to watch live broadcasts of the meetings on the Town of Vienna Community Network (TVCN) on Cox channel 27, Verizon FIOS channel 38 and streamed on the Town’s Web site at www.viennava.gov, the Town of Vienna announced Thursday.

The Town launched TVCN in February 2012 with a bulletin board system and has been working with community volunteers to develop original programming for the channel.  In June, the Town contracted with Human Circuit to develop a plan to outfit the Council Chambers with an integrated HD audiovisual and broadcast system allowing council meetings to be transmitted live on the Town’s cable channel and streamed onto the Web site.

The upgraded Council Chambers provides the opportunity to broadcast meetings live as well as use state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment for live council meetings and non-broadcasted town and community meetings, trainings and other activities that occur in the Council Chambers.

Town of Vienna Verizon FIOS customers and Fairfax County Cox customers can view TVCN from their home.  The channel is live streamed on the Town’s Web site and is accessible to anyone with access to an Internet connection. Recorded meeting videos are available on demand on the Town’s Web site and rebroadcast on TVCN following the Monday meeting, on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.  For schedule information, visit www.viennava.gov.
