Felon Disenfranchisement in Virginia: Unfair, Out of Step, and Racially Stained
In 2008, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) launched the Virginia Voter Restoration Project to eliminate Virginia’s antiquated felon disenfranchisement law. Imagine losing your right to vote because you were once imprisoned! Kent Willis, the Executive Director of the ACLU, will talk to the Northern Virginia Ethical Society about Virginia’s disenfranchisement law that imposes a lifetime ban on voting by all felons.
