Sunshine 5k and Fun Run

The first-ever Louise Archer Sunshine 5k and Fun Run kicks off at 8 a.m. on Oct. 17 at the W&OD Trail.

Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.. The fun run begins at 8 a.m., and the 5k begins at 8:30 a.m.

A Rock'n'Roll Warmup will be held in front of  Evolution gym on Old Dominion Road. The Fun Run and the 5k will both start on the trail across from the gym, outside the old train station.

After the race, there will be refreshments and an award ceremony. There are awards for the top two male and female runners in each of the following categories: 8-and-under, 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ (for each gender). Every Fun Run participant will receive a ribbon.

The Fun Run is $10 for adults and children. The 5k is $30 for adults and $20 for children. 

All proceeds benefit the Louise Archer Elementary School PTA.
