Fairfax Co. Schools Offer Meals This Summer

Fairfax County students can receive meals at school this summer, too.

Fairfax County Public Schools is participating in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) summer food service program. About 48,000 children receive the free and reduced price meals during the school year, according to FCPS.

Meals, including breakfast and lunch, will be provided at over 50 Fairfax schools starting in July. Read the full list of participating schools and meal times on the FCPS website.

Families do not need to apply to participate in the summer program, said Maria Parone, a specialist in FCPS’s office of Food and Nutrition Services.

“Any child can come in and have a meal,” Parone said.
