Kilmer Middle School Donates 400 Snack Bags to Alternative House
School's iSnack program helps make a dent in the area's fight against hunger.
In any given month, about 1 in 5 students in Fairfax County report going hungry.
Kilmer Middle School students decided to tackle that program through a program called “iSnack! Fill 400 in February."
The drive, run by the school's National Junior Honor Society and the eighth grade class, challenged students to donate or buy enough food to fill 400 snack bags for clients of the Alternative House, a local abused and homeless children's center.

"Kilmer’s donation will make an incredible difference for children in our community," said Chris Maggio, the house's director of development.
