Madison Earns Spot On Best Schools List

The ranking was one of the best for Fairfax County High Schools. Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology was ranked No. 10; George Mason High School was ranked No. 45.

The list is based on six components provided by school administrators, said Bob Gambarelli, director of student services at Madison: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered per student(5 percent).

Twenty-nine schools from Virginia made the list:
