Madison Food Drive Nets More Than 11,000 Cans

Annual collection donates canned goods to Food For Others

Madison students collected 11,070 cans of food for local nonprofit Food For Others this holiday season.

The drive, which ended last week, pitted classes against each other to see who could collect the most food. Among the large classes, Robyn Buscemi's class averaged 229.38 cans per person. Among the larger classes, language teacher Dawn Shotwell's group collected an average of 84.76 cans per person.

The Buscemi and Shotwell classes will share a catered hot IHOP breakfast in the next few weeks. The other top frontrunners will have their choice of a Dunkin Donut or Manhattan Bagel breakfast.
