Madison Girls Basketball Celebrates Seniors

Warhawks beat Marshall as they celebrate the careers of four players.

Monday night was a bittersweet moment for Madison High School's girls varisty basketball four seniors.

The Warhawks (12-7, 8-3 Liberty) swept cross-town rivals Marshall in a 53-28 win at home. But for Megan Leduc, Kelsey Ross, Jonee Felicia Finney and Megan Henshaw, it was among the last time they'd drive, press and score — not only at home, but in their high school careers.

The players did get to celebrate together, as Henshaw briefly returned to the court after battling an ACL injury from the summer.

While the night was a time to look back on a run that included four Liberty District Championships in the past five years, the team isn't betting on an early exit.

It stands at second place in the district, behind surprise leader South Lakes (16-2, 9-1) and just ahead of McLean (14-4, 8-2).
