Late double by Warhawk senior earns victory for softball team

In a Monday night game that was almost cancelled because of  turf problems in the outfield, the Warhawks initially struggled --  until Madison High School senior Erica Daul lined a two-RBI double off the center field fence to secure a tough 3-0 win over Jefferson High School.

Freshman Elizabeth Fallas was the offensive star of the evening for Madison, going 3 for 3 at the plate.  Michelle Mittel went two for three and EmJ Fogel and Daul added a hit apiece.  Freshman Kristyn Buscemi added another hit and drove in the game's first run in the second inning.

Senior pitcher Sam Brady went the distance on the mound, giving up 4 hits, 3 walks, while striking out 12 Colonial batters.

The victory gives Madison an overall record of 4-2 (3-2 in Liberty District play).
