Patch's 2010 All-Northern Region Varsity Football Team

James Madison High School Seniors Zac Frederick and C.J. Kelliher were named to Patch's inaugural All-Northern Region Varisty Football Team yesterday.

Sports Editor Michael Beller and Patch sports reporters selected players from schools across Fairfax County for first, second and third teams. The first team includes players on offense, defense and special teams. The second  and third teams include offensive skill players only.

Frederick was the Center pick for the first team. Kelliher was selected as a running back for the second team.

All teams are comprised solely of players from Patch schools for the
2010 football season.

First Team

• Quarterback: Senior Michael Nebrich (Lake Braddock)

• Running Backs: Junior Manny Smith (Centreville) and Senior Jared Velasquez (Robinson)
• Wide Receivers: Seniors Matt Zanellato and Tanner Quigley (Lake Braddock) Senior Daryl Copeland (West Potomac)
• Tight End: Ken Ekanem (Centreville)
• Tackles: Senior Evan Hanscom (Robinson) and Senior Jay Murray (Lake Braddock)
• Guards: Junior Ali Ali-Musa (Annandale) and Junior Jake Farrar (Oakton)
• Center: Senior Zac Frederick (Madison)
• Defensive Ends: Senior Emmanuel Adetunji (Lake Braddock) and Senior Patrick Miller (Robinson)
• Defensive Tackles: Senior Mike Newman, (Lake Braddock) and Senior Logan Boeuger (Mount Vernon) 
• Linebackers: Senior Andrew Weidinger (Lake Braddock), Senior Marcus Bailey (Fairfax) and Junior Matt Vlissides (Centreville)
• Defensive Backs: Senior Ronny Vandyke (South County), Senior  Jared Velasquez (Robinson), Senior Sean Price (South Lakes), Junior Hayden Knudson (Hayfield)
• Kick Returner: Junior Brandon Johnson (West Potomac)
• Punt Returner: Senior Darius Smith (South Lakes)
• Kicker: Senior Michael Dola (Yorktown)
