Scoreboard: Madison Girls Basketball Nets Sixth Straight Win

The Madison Girls basketball team won its sixth straight game on Tuesday with a 59-47 win over Langley High School.

The win kept the Warhawks alone at the top of the Liberty District. The team (11-3 overall) hasn't lost a game in district play yet this regular season.

Marshall Girls Varsity Basketball lost 43-35 Tuesday against South Lakes High

The Statesmen started slow, trailing 13 at the half. "The bright spot may have been their defense in the second half, holding the Seahawks to only one point in the last quarter, but it was too little too late," Statesmen sports says.

Friday night is another chance to get a district win, in a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against the Saxons at Langley High School.

Marshall Boys Varsity Basketball lost 73-43 Tuesday against South Lakes High

The Statesmen fought an uphill battle throughout the game but could not overcome "a prolific offensive attack by the Seahawks," Statesmen sports says.

Latrell Watkins led Marshall with 17 points and 5 rebounds, followed by Connor Barrand with 9 points and 3 assists. 

With the loss, Statesmen sits at 0-5 in Liberty District play and 5-7 on the season. Marshall plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Langley High School at home.
