Crew: Madison Cruises to Seven First Place Finishes

Strong showing for Warhawks at the Regional Park Regatta.

Of the nine Madison High School boats at the Regional Park Regatta on the Occoquan on Saturday, seven rowed to first places finishes and two other boats placed in strong seconds as the Warhawks continued to show early domination of the region's teams this season.

The Madison Women’s First Varsity Eight again shut out the competition by an impressive margin, beating Oakton with open water with a time of 5:42.10.

But the story of the day was the  adaptability of the Men’s First Eight, who raced to a first place finish in a backup boat after their regular boat was damaged on Friday, with a time of 5:01:60.
