Fairfax and Thomas Jefferson High School fans bolstered their field hockey teams this week, helping the Wednesday faceoff win Patch's "Game of the Week" poll for the Liberty District.
The matchup earned 73 percent — about 30 votes — in this week's poll, beating out two cross-country meets and a pair of field hockey games between Marshall and South Lakes and McLean and Langley, respectively.
The Fairfax Rebels, who won the 2011 Liberty District title, enter the game undefeated with a 5-0 record. The TJ Colonials are 4-3-1, but have won the last two games by decisive margins.
The game will be featured on Patch later this week.
