Elizabeth Fallas and Kelsey Ross combined to pitch a five-hitter, striking out eleven and walking five, enroute to a 4-3 win over South Lakes on Tuesday night.

On a beautiful night for softball, the Warhawks also honored  five Madison High School teachers.  Principal Mark Merrell and Director of Student Activities John Lingenfelter were present for pre-game activities where the teachers were presented with certificates of appreciation and American Legion awards.

It was the Seahawks that were able to get the key hit with runners in scoring position throughout the game.  South Lakes took a 3-1 lead into the last inning, and the Warhawks, who had only six hits up to that point, knew their backs were against the wall.  Kat Olson (1-2, RBI) got things started in the last inning with a line drive home run over the left field fence, cutting the lead to 3-2.  After a ground out and a strikeout, the Warhawks were down to their final out.  Kristyn Buscemi (1-4) stroked a solid single up the middle, setting the stage for Ally Grasso's (3-4, 2 RBIs) heroics.  With the game on the line, Grasso hit a monster shot over the left center field fence for a walk-off, two-run home run to put the Warhawks in the win column.

Tori Lipnicky (2-4), EmJ Fogel (1-4), and Mary Bolinger (1-4, RBI), had the other hits on the night for the Warhawks.
