Madison Girls Lacrosse Takes Liberty District

Warhawks enter Northern Regional play as No. 1 seed

The girls lacrosse team claimed the Liberty District Title for the second consecutive year Friday by defeating Langley in a 18-17 thriller.

For the defending state champion Warhawks (15-1) the win was revenge on the team's only loss of the season, a 13-11 match against the Saxons (13-2) a month earlier.

Madison's Katie Kerrigan led the team with seven goals and one assist. Melissa Kellan added in four goals and an assist, and Sam Babbit, Megan Bisson and Kierra Sweeny chipped in two goals a piece.
