Madison Girls Lacrosse Wins Turkey Shootout

Warhawks clinch Oakton Lacrosse Turkey Shootout in overtime.

The Madison High School girls lacrosse team had its first victory of the year Sunday as it won the annual Oakton Lacrosse Turkey Shootout.

The tournament pitted 24 girls teams form Virginia and Maryland against each other by division for 25-minute matchups.

The Warhawks won all eight of their games, among them, a semifinal win against Langley High School.

Madison won the championship game in overtime. After tying Bishop Ireton High School 9-9, the Warhawks deployed a "Brave Heart" sudden death play, which ended with a goal by junior Alex Condon to win the game.
