Some of Madison High School's hockey players aren't just scoring goals on the ice — they're making key plays in the classroom, too.
Five players were named to the Northern Virginia Scholastic Hockey League All-Academic Team for the 2012/13 season: Justin Leas, Jeremy Park, Austen Adcock, Andrew Herrmann and Dylan Cass.
The players maintained a GPA of 3.5 or better for both of the first two grading periods of the 2012/13 academic year.
"They are excellent examples of the true 'Student Athlete!'" Coach Ed Cass wrote in an email. "You have made your school, team, coaches and parents very proud."
