Madison-Marshall Field Hockey Wins Game of the Week

Friday showdown selected from Liberty District matchups to be featured on Patch

Madison and Marshall High School fans bolstered their field hockey teams this week, helping the Friday faceoff win Patch's  "Game of the Week" poll for the Liberty District.

The matchup earned 62 percent of the votes in this week's poll, beating out two volleyball games between Fairfax and McLean and Stone Bridge and South Lakes, respectively, along with a Langley and South Lakes field hockey matchup and a cross country meet.

The Madison Warhawks are 3-6 this season, and have yet to face their cross-town rival Marshall, which is off to a roaring 9-2 start, including a sweep of the Herndon Tournament last weekend.

The game will be featured on Patch later this week.
